Important! New Voices Photos Tonight – Dress Code Reminder

Hello Level VII and VIII Students and Families

PNB Photographer Angela Sterling will be coming to New Voices classes TONIGHT Wednesday, 3/25, to take photos! Ms Stone would like the students’ uniforms to match for these photos, and she would strongly prefer all of the dancers wear black tights over their class leotard this evening.

However, if not everyone has black tights the class will need to wear pink/flesh colored tights, so bring both options if possible!

Thank you,

PNB School

IMPORTANT! Phelps Center Load Zone Unavailable Tuesday 3/24

Hello PNBS Phelps Center families,

Tomorrow, Tuesday March 24th, there will be a PNB DISCOVER DANCE performance event at McCaw Hall. This event uses school buses to bring families and student performers from local public schools to and from McCaw Hall.

We request that you do not park or leave your car unattended in the loading zone along Mercer Street in front of McCaw Hall and the Phelps Center between 4:00-8:15pm in order to keep the load zone clear for buses to safely drop-off and pick-up families.

PNB will have signage and staff in the McCaw Hall load zone on the evening of 3/24 to remind drivers to keep the area clear for buses, as needed. We appreciate your support with this effort as we work towards welcoming DISCOVER DANCE families to an exciting evening at McCaw Hall.

Thank you!

April Office Hours with Josh Spell

Hello Upper Division Families,

On Apr. 1st, we have a few slots available for office hour counseling with PNB’s consulting therapist, Josh Spell, available at no cost! As a part of PNBs ongoing commitment to helping develop healthy dancers, we are so excited for our students to have this opportunity to help address challenges in their lives, dance related or not.

For students at the FRC you may attend these office hours virtually if you are unable to come in person to the Phelps Center Library.

SIGN-UP:

These are first come first serve. If you are not able to attend the in-person sessions or all of the slots are taken, you are invited to contact Josh to set up a virtual 30-minute appointment. Josh will be providing virtual office hours each month to PNB students at no cost!

Office hours can be supportive in many ways. They can be used as maintenance, like in-house physical therapy, or they can be used when you are feeling overwhelmed and need to find some clarity and mental and emotional space.

Office hours may look like 1) receiving validation, 2) getting in touch with emotions, 3) tuning up for your mindset, 4) perspective taking, 5) strategizing for how to approach situations, experiences or upcoming performances, 6) managing stress and 7) building skills to use your voice.

The mind and body are not separate, so if you’re dealing with an injury, there could be a psychological component associated. Sometimes the body holds onto stress and anxiety, so talking through stressors can also complement physical therapy.

Please note: Josh will not be diagnosing or providing psychotherapy to treat long term disorders. Up to three one on one sessions are covered by PNB for each student, if more therapy is required, referrals for other clinicians can be provided by Josh.

Students may be excused from class in order to meet with Josh if needed.

Warmly,

PNB School
