Reminder: Level VI Wellness this Saturday! (Bellevue)

Hello FRC Level VI families,

This post is a reminder that there is Wellness Seminar for Bellevue Level VI with our nutritionist Monica van Winkle scheduled for this Saturday October 18th from 10:00-11:00 at the FRC. These seminars are mandatory, and are part of PNB’s commitment to promoting healthy emotional development for our students! Roll will be taken at each meeting for attendance. If you are unable to attend for any reason please contact us through the school inbox at pnbschool@pnb.org.

Students who serve as class assistants will be excused from assisting to attend their seminars if the times conflict.

Reminder: Advanced C Mentorship starts this Saturday!

This post is a reminder that the Advanced C class will have their first mentorship session this Saturday October 18th from 10:00-11:00 at the Phelps Center in the school library. This year the Advanced C Mentors are Kuu Sakuragi and Dylan Calahan! These sessions are mandatory, roll will be taken at each meeting for attendance. If you are unable to attend for any reason please contact us through the school inbox at pnbschool@pnb.org.

Level VII Fall Conference Sign-Up!

Afternoon Level VII Families,

We are delighted to have you back this fall! Individual student/parent conferencing for our Level VII students are coming up.

This year we are introducing a new conference format. Level VII conferences will take place on October 30th, starting at 4pm. The conferences will replace Level VII classes on October 30th, and will take place over Zoom in 15 minute time blocks. All Level VII students will be offered a sign up time between 4:00pm-7:00pm.

If your student is a graduate, they will not have a separate conference this year, they will be included in the conferences for the level they are currently in.

As always, the student conferences will include discussions about your progress and mastering technique and artistry. Prior to conferences, your teachers work collectively to communicate their individual observations and corrections for each student. Conferences provide a platform to discuss not only what you are working on in class in the way of technique, but also your plans for the future and how we can help guide you successfully into the next chapter in your life. Parents and students please come prepared with questions and let us know how we can help make this a successful year for you.

Advanced C Seminar Update

Hello Advanced C students and families,

We want to apologize for the schedule mixup that happened Saturday the 27th where our scheduled speaker for your seminar did not make it. We appreciate how you all made arrangements to come to the studios early and we are sincerely sorry that the planned seminar did not happen. You were scheduled to meet with our nutritionist Monica van Winkle. If you would like to attend a makeup session you are welcome to attend Monica’s session with the Level VIII class on Saturday October 25th from 10:00-11:00am, this is optional, just let us know if you would like to join!

Monica wanted to share the following message with all of you:

“Hi dancers and parents,

I wanted to apologize for missing you last week. I had an accident/injury recently (I will be okay), but unfortunately it caused me to overlook my meeting with you. Here are a few handouts for you to look over. Please reach out to me if you have any questions or if you would just like to check in. I am always happy to help! Have a wonderful fall and winter season and I will see you in March.

2025-26 BELLEVUE Class Assistants Needed!

Dear Parents and Students,

Part of ballet training goes beyond technique—it also includes learning how to manage a classroom and developing patience and empathy for fellow dancers. At Pacific Northwest Ballet School, we offer a unique opportunity for upper-level students to become teaching assistants!

Serving as a teaching assistant is a valuable experience that fosters growth for both the assistant and the students they teach. It’s also a great way to earn community service hours, build your resume for college applications, and strengthen your mentoring and leadership skills.

As an assistant, you have the special opportunity to share your love of ballet with the next generation of dancers. Many of you were once in Tots or Creative Movement—think back to how much you admired the teaching assistants in your classes. Now, you have the chance to be that same role model for someone else!

We still have several classes in need of assistants. Even if you are only available to assist a class for 15 or 30 minutes we would greatly appreciate it! If you’re interested and able to commit, please reach out to the school office.
