Good afternoon PNB School Families!

We wanted to send out a reminder to all of our students and families to please take time to exercise caution at drop-off and pick-up each day as we continue through the winter season. With days getting dark early in the afternoon, weather that can be unpredictable and difficult to see in, and lots of traffic at both school locations, we ask you to be mindful and practice safety at all times.

FRC/Bellevue Families

If you arrive more than 5 minutes prior to the end of your students’ class, please park your car in a PNB parking spot and walk to either the sidewalk/steps outside the front door or wait inside the lobby for your student to exit class. Younger students should always be walked to their vehicle, and at no time should students be running through the parking lot. Students should wait at the top of the stairs until their guardian arrives to ensure admin staff can supervise them. Please wait for the pick-up/drop-off line to finish moving, and for any oncoming traffic to move through the lot before crossing to a parked vehicle. Do not leave your parked car in the pick-up/drop-off line. Please contact the front desk if you notice you will be arriving late so that students can wait safely indoors until your arrival.

PC/Seattle Families

Please exercise safety precautions when navigating Mercer St. in front of the Phelps Center. If you are dropping your student off, please drop them off on the PNB side of Mercer St. to avoid using the crosswalk. If you need to use the crosswalk, please be very cautious and aware when crossing at the intersection of Mercer and 3rd Ave, especially in the dark. We encourage you to use the sky bridge that crosses above Mercer St. to avoid crossing such a high traffic area on foot. You can access the sky bridge from the ground floor of the Mercer St. Parking Garage/next to McCaw Hall.

All students leaving PNB School in the winter should always be wearing appropriate outdoor shoes and a raincoat or winter coat before exiting the building.

Thank you for your help! Our students’ safety is our top priority.

Best,
PNBS Staff
