Hello Upper Division Dancers and Families,
We love to see your passion and enthusiasm for dance, and want to continue to support your desire for more time in the studio. We really appreciate how hard you all work, and want to continue to provide you with space to work in. With that said, we would like to clarify the times and rules around outside studio usage, particularly on Saturdays at the Phelps Center.
Students in Levels VII-IX are permitted to stay in their studio up to fifteen minutes past their class time Monday-Saturday. This 15 minute period is intended to allow students to pack up, stretch, or get a few extra minutes of cool down in studio while we still have admins on site to supervise them. Students are never able to use studios unless supervised by a teacher or a school admin. Our security guard cannot supervise studio use.
Any and all studio usage past the 15 minute period needs to be pre-arranged and paid for. If you are looking to rent studio space, please reach out to pnbschool@pnb.org and we can get you set up!
While this fifteen minute rule exists, students should remain mindful of Phelps Center building hours. The School is open until 9pm on weekdays and 4:30pm on Saturdays, regardless of other events, rehearsals or Company productions. Admin staff will begin to close the building fifteen minutes prior to closing and staff reserves the right to ask students to vacate spaces before then. If you are not participating in a designated event like REACH or called to a rehearsal, you will never be permitted to stay at the Phelps Center past 9pm on weekdays or 4:30pm on Saturdays.
Thank you all for your understanding. If we notice these rules are not being adhered to, studio privileges may be revoked.
