Please join us in welcoming guest instructor Kareen Pauld Camargo to the PNB School studios the week of March 21st. Ms. Camargo will be teaching various levels in the School throughout the week.

URGENT: PNB School Protocols – Remainder of School Year

Dear Families,

At PNB, we prioritize our community above all, including health and safety. As such, we have taken a conservative approach to our COVID-19 safety protocols, which have kept our students, Faculty, Staff, and Company members safe throughout these past two years. Pacific Northwest Ballet School will continue with the current  COVID safety protocols for the remainder of the school year at Seattle and Bellevue locations, including masking, weekly testing, required vaccination for 12+, and drop-off/pick-up outside of Phelps or FRC. School and Executive Staff are assessing and drafting protocols for Summer Course and the 2022-2023 school year.

Thank you for your support and understanding as we continue to prioritize the health and safety of all members of the PNB community.

Updated Travel Protocols for Students

Hi everyone,

We have updated our Travel Protocols.  Please take a moment to read through the updated guidelines as you plan for potential traveling.  These protocols were developed based on the CDC travel guidelines.

Link to CDC Guidelines for domestic travel (updated 2/25/22)

Link to CDC Guidelines for international travel (updated 1/27/22)

Some highlights to note:

· In order to not have testing or quarantine requirements for domestic travel, you must be up to date on your COVID-19 vaccinations. This means that you have received all recommended COVID-19 vaccines, including any booster dose(s) when eligible. For additional information about if/when you are eligible for a booster, please take a look on the CDC website.

· If you are NOT up to date on your COVID-19 vaccination (for example you are eligible for a booster but have not yet received one), you will need to follow the unvaccinated/partially vaccinated/not up to date guidelines which include testing and quarantine.

Below please find the updated Travel Health Forms:

· International Travel Health Form – for individuals that are up to date on their COVID-19 vaccines and traveling outside the U.S.

· Travel Form for Unvaccinated/Partially Vaccinated/Not Up to Date – for individuals traveling internationally or domestically that are unvaccinated or not up to date on their COVID-19 vaccines.

· Note – if you are up to date on your vaccines, you no longer need to submit paperwork for domestic travel within the U.S.

If you have any questions about these updated travel protocols, please reach out to the school.

COVID Vaccine Boosters

We have been quite fortunate at PNB in that our community is 95%+ vaccinated for COVID and we know many of you have already received the COVID booster shot.  PNB strongly recommends the booster shot for all eligible individuals (and it now potentially affects your travels and quarantine requirements). Click here for the WA State vaccine locator.  Additional information about COVID vaccine safety and effectiveness can be found on the CDC website.

**If you have already been boosted for COVID, we ask that you send your updated COVID vaccine card to pnbschool@pnb.org, if you have not already done so.

School Performance 2022 Information and Participation Agreement

Dear PNB School students and families,

One thing is certain these days, and that is nothing is certain. Our students and families have learned to be flexible and understanding as we constantly adapt to an ever-evolving pandemic. Thank you for working with us in our efforts to put student health and safety first. So it is with a mix of confidence and caution that I announce plans for two School Performances on stage at Marion Oliver McCaw Hall:

Friday, June 17, 7:30pm Levels V-VIII and Professional Division.

Saturday, June 18, 12:30pm Levels I-IV, DanceChance, Intermediate Boys, Men’s Division, and Professional Division.

Faculty members will be creating dances for Levels I through VIII, Men’s Division and DanceChance. In each performance, Professional Division students will perform a revised work by choreographer and faculty member Eva Stone and an original work by PNB dancer Christopher D’Ariano.

You will receive more information about these performances as we move through the spring. And I suspect details of a class dance will be talked about at the dinner table and practiced in the living room. News of leotard colors and challenging choreography may come up as well, and hopefully you will feel a shared sense of joy and anticipation as the months pass. Please mark the date on your calendar. The School Performance is a ticketed event; ticket information will be available later this spring.

It is important students attend all rehearsals for School Performance between now and June. Note most rehearsals will take place during scheduled class times. We thank you for your attention to this; the investment brings tremendous rewards for performers and audiences alike. Also watch for emails about mandatory studio and on-stage rehearsals leading up to the big day.

To Confirm Your Participation in the 2022 School Performance:

Please confirm if your student will/will not participate in the 2022 School Performance by clicking here to complete and submit the School Performance Agreement. Agreements are mandatory for all students and due by February 26th. Students who indicate they will be performing must also submit a $20 participation fee with their completed Agreement.

How wonderful it will be to see our students on stage again. The experience and thrill of live performance is an unmatched highlight of the year, and I look forward to applauding alongside all of you on June 17th and 18th.

Sincerely,

Peter Boal

Director
