PNB School 2022-23 Financial Aid Application

PNB School Now Accepting Financial Aid Applications for 2022-23 School Year

Pacific Northwest Ballet School’s financial assistance program grants financial aid based on the need of the family and the student’s potential for a professional career. In addition, a student’s classroom performance, attendance and behavior at the School are expected to be exemplary, and are also considered in determining assistance.

Our financial assistance application process utilizes the services of the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS). The SSS does a comprehensive, standardized analysis of the information received and, upon completion, submits a report to PNB, which provides a “measure of the ability of parents to contribute toward total educational expenses”.

Financial assistance is determined in the summer for the following academic year. Previously awarded financial aid does not transfer from year to year; families must reapply.

No More Online Daily Health Screenings Starting May 1st

Hello PNB Families,

Starting May 1, 2022 we will no longer require students to complete a daily online health screening before class. We do still request that students self-screen every day and notify the school office of any symptoms or exposures before coming to the studios.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, April 27th T-Mobile will be hosting a company happy hour between 4:30 and 6:30 that will likely mean our parking lot will be a bit busier than usual. T-Mobile will be providing traffic management and security during this event.

We are very excited to invite family members into the studio to observe your student’s class in-person. This year’s Petite Finale theme is Swan Lake! Students will be spending time in their classes learning about the story, choreography and music of the ballet. On their specific observation day students will show some of their regular classwork before performing their special Petite Finale dance.

While we will only allow two individuals per student to observe in-person, we will have a zoom option for other family members to use that day. No students under five years of age will be permitted in the studio for this observation opportunity.

We are thrilled to invite you to your student’s class Petite Finale and hope to see you at the studios in June!

Level VIII School Performance Update

Dear Level VIII Students,

We have an important School Performance update for you: Level VIII students will now be performing in both School Performances!

· Friday, June 17th at 6:30pm features Level VIII Ballet.

· Saturday, June 18th at 12:30pm features Level VIII Modern.

We hope you will join us after the performance on Saturday the 18th for the in-person return of our annual School Celebration event, honoring our graduating Level VIII and Professional Division students! More details about the School Celebration event are coming soon; stay tuned!

UPDATE: SCHOOL PERFORMANCE TIME CHANGE

Hello Level V, VI, VII, and VIII Families,  

The time for School Performance on Friday, June 17th has changed. The performance will now begin at 6:30pm on Friday, June 17th for all PNB School students in Levels V-VIII and Professional Division. Please note this is one hour earlier than the original schedule you received (per your performance agreement).

FRC Summer Registration Reminder and Schedules

Hello PNB Families, 

We want to remind you that PNB School students currently enrolled in Levels I-V are invited to register for Summer Course at the Francia Russell Center in Bellevue. The program runs from July 11-August 13, 2022.

REGISTRATION: Classes may fill to capacity; registration is accepted on a first-come first-served basis.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to current COVID restrictions, walk-in registration is unavailable.

  • The remaining tuition balance must be paid in full by June 1, 2022. Tuition information is included on the attached registration form.
  • Students must submit the registration fee and the completed (and signed) Registration Form, to be considered enrolled in the program.

If classes are full when registration is received, students will be placed on a waiting list, and will be notified after May 1st if space is available.

TUITION REFUND POLICY: The $50 Registration fee is absolutely non-refundable. No refunds will be given for any reason other than severe injury (injury preventing student from attending; the School must receive medical documentation of injury when considering a refund).

COVID-19 POLICIES: The health and safety of our students and staff remain a priority as we plan for summer classes. All students over the age of twelve are required to submit proof of vaccination against COVID-19. All individuals are required to wear a mask at all times at the Francia Russell Center, including during classes.

PNB School Parent Volunteer Opportunity Reminder

Dear PNB School Parents,

A reminder that we are seeking parent volunteers for the following opportunities:

· Parents Association Steering Task Force (Limited project, April – June 2022)

o This is a limited project; volunteers will help shape the leadership structure and draft a new charter for the Parents Association.

o Parents Association Steering Task Force meetings will be held via Zoom beginning in April 2022.

o We will do our best to accommodate everyone’s schedules when planning meetings.

· Parents Association Executive Leadership Team (Ongoing commitment, September 2022 – 2023)

o This will be an ongoing commitment for the 2022-2023 school year and we seek representation from all School levels.

o This group will lead the Parents Association in a variety of ways including (but not  limited to) facilitating communication between parents, coordinating volunteers, and fundraising.

o Meetings will be set for the upcoming school year in Summer 2022 based on member schedules.

· Parent Volunteers (Both project-based and ongoing opportunities, June 2022 – 2023)

o Parent volunteers provide support for a variety of short- and long-term projects each year.

o Time commitment varies, with a minimum of 8 hours per year.
