PNB School Now Accepting Financial Aid Applications for 2024-25 School Year

Pacific Northwest Ballet School’s financial assistance program grants financial aid based on the need of the family and the student’s potential for a professional career. In addition, a student’s classroom performance, attendance and behavior at the school are expected to be exemplary and are also considered in determining assistance.

Our financial assistance application process utilizes the services of the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS). The SSS does a comprehensive, standardized analysis of the information received and, upon completion, submits a report to PNB, which provides a “measure of the ability of parents to contribute toward total educational expenses”.

Financial assistance is determined in the summer for the following academic year.  Previously awarded financial aid does not transfer from year to year; families must reapply. Financial assistance is primarily awarded to Student Division and Professional Division applicants. Students enrolled in the Children’s Division may apply for financial aid, although assistance is limited at this level.

Click here for the 2024-25 Financial Aid Application. Applications are due July 1, 2024.

Please contact the school if you have questions regarding financial aid.

REMINDER: Dress Code – Hair

Dear PNB families,

As a reminder, PNB School’s dress code is designed to encourage unity and discipline among our students. All students are required to wear PNBS-logo leotards in the color appropriate for their Level. Students not meeting the required dress code will be restricted from participation in class.

Hair: All hair is required to be pulled back and fastened securely away from the face (no pony tails). Students/parents must be responsible for the necessary supplies to have hair done before class time*. Short hair should be fastened away from the face. Hair should not be a distraction in class. You can find Hair Tips & Supply List below.

*We have had an increase in dancers needing their hair to be done by staff members. Please remember that this is a last resort option as staff are busy with other tasks that help the school, and your dancers’ classes, run smoothly. We ask that your student arrives with their hair ready, each time that they have class.

We recommend this instruction video offering great “how to” tips for hair: https://youtu.be/zUC3WzQrT6s?si=sWlLsTu-p3lgVXcV

Remember, practice makes perfect!

You can find all information regarding dress code and additional details & requirements in our Student Handbook on pages 10-12.
