Hi PNB School Families,

We will be conducting multiple fire drills this fall at PNB as part of our ongoing safety efforts. In the upcoming weeks, we will be holding a drill during evening or Saturday classes at both the Phelps Center and the FRC. In order to ensure we see people’s truest reactions, the day and time of each drill will only be known to a small group of people. For these drills, building alarms will not ring. Instead, we will use the alarm function on our bullhorn to announce the fire drill and to please evacuate the building.

If you or your student are onsite during either fire drill, please do the following:

  • If your student is in class during the fire drill, they should follow the lead of their teacher to evacuate the building (faculty have all been provided evacuation routes) and stay with their class.
  • If your student is in the bathroom or hallway, they should follow the lead of the adults and evacuate via the closest exit available. Once evacuated, they should find a teacher or PNB School staff member for further instructions.
  • Any parents or family members in the building should follow the lead of School staff members and evacuate via the closest exit available. Once evacuated, they should find a PNB School staff member for further instructions and stay together with other parents/family members. If your PNB School student evacuated with their class, please do not remove them from their class group so we can accurately account for all students.
  • Do not stop to collect any personal belongings or equipment

The primary evacuation sites for the Phelps Center and the FRC are as follows:

  • Phelps Center – outside the NW corner of the PC between Phelps and the Cornish Playhouse
  • FRC – far end of the parking lot, near Connect Cheer

Once everyone has been evacuated safely, PNB School staff will ensure everyone is accounted for and in the correct meeting location. PNB School staff will then clear everyone to return to the building.

These fall fire drills will be scheduled to take place during classes for students in Levels Pre-Ballet and up. Fire drills will not take place during class times for Duets, Tots, Creative Movement, or Elementary classes.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Best,

PNB School
