Dear New Voices I & II Students and Families,
What a wonderful creative year it has been so far! We still have many events planned, so the following is a list of all of them. Attendance is required, so please mark your calendars! Here we go!
Saturday, May 9: All NV I & II students will be attending the Mark Morris Dance Group performance at Meany Hall on UW campus. Show starts at 8pm, but students are to meet in the lobby no later than 7:20pm to collect their tickets from me. This event is free to students and is generously supported by PNB School and Education committee! The show runs about two hours, so please be ready to pick up your dancer by 10pm. (If any students are unable to attend, please let me know as soon as possible so that the ticket can be offered to others.)
Saturday, May 30: New Voices I will be hosting an informal showing of their work for the FRC Level VI dancers and families who will be coming to the Phelps Center for an introduction to the classes and programs that are offered here. Four NV I pieces will be selected (tbd) to present their work in progress. This event will take place during regular class hours: 1pm – 2pm in Studio E.
Wednesday JUNE 3: New Voices I & II Showings! Both classes will be presenting original work and NV II will additionally be showing choreography by Company dancer Amanda Morgan. All showings will take place in Studio C.
NV I: 6:15pm-7:15pm
NVII: 7:30pm-8:30pm
NV II Pop UP!: New Voices II students will be performing during the intermissions of the All LANG Rep at McCaw Hall. Six 4×4 stages will be set up around the lobbies of the theater and the dancers will perform short works for audience members. Here are the dates and times:
Friday, May 29: 7:30 pm
Saturday, May 30: 2pm & 7:30 pm
Friday, June 5: 7:30pm
Saturday, June 6: 2pm & 7:30pm
Call for dancers will be one hour prior to show start time.
