Dear Level VIII students,
PNB Artistic Director, Peter Boal, has assembled a team of artistic collaborators to create an all-new production of The Sleeping Beauty that will premiere at McCaw Hall in January 2025. The ballet’s famous Garland Waltz will be staged for the 2024 annual School Performance and performed by 36 PNB School students. The first step of this exciting process will be fittings for costumes designed by Paul Tazewell, costume designer of PNB’s Swan Lake and the hit musical Hamilton.
In order to begin building the costumes, our Costume Shop will take measurements from all the Level VIII students beginning next week. Students whose measurements are taken at this stage may not be cast to perform in the Garland Waltz. Casting decisions will be made in the coming months. Please come to the Phelps Center on Wednesday, October 4th– starting at 3:45 to 5:30pm. Location TBD. Stop by the front desk and we will tell you where the fitting will be taking place.
