Dear PNB School Parents and Guardians,
My name is Paige Davis, and I have the honor of serving the PNB community, as the President of the PNB School Parent/Guardian Association (the “PGA”). Our family started at PNB School 10 years ago, when Chloe, her Dad, Derek, and I would dance in a tots class at FRC on Saturday mornings. Since then, the School has provided Chloe with a platform to develop, not only as a dancer, but as a passionate and dedicated individual who gets to live her dream every day. I am grateful to the School, the faculty, and all of the dancers (school and professional alike) for making PNB a welcoming community where all of our student dancers can thrive, as well as for the opportunity to give back to this community through the PGA.
As we get ready to start the 2023/2024 PNB School year, the PGA wanted to welcome all of you back and provide you with some information about the PGA and the various initiatives, fundraising events and celebrations organized and put on by the PGA and parent/guardian volunteers.
The PNBS PGA functions as a support organization for PNB School, and directly supports Pacific Northwest Ballet’s mission to inspire, engage and educate through dance. Our role is to build community within PNB School, particularly to the parent and guardian community, through communication, volunteer opportunities and fundraising. The PGA operates with a lens of inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility in all of its endeavors.
Our role includes (1) creating a sense of belonging within the PNBS community; (2) acting as a link between PNB School and PNB School parents and guardians; (3) supporting our community through education; and (4) organizing and providing volunteer staffing for PNBS events; (5) coordinating and selling merchandise for PNBS events to meet PGA revenue goals; and (6) supporting PNBS through providing volunteer staffing to manage the lost and found, a leotard exchange and supporting students cast in PNB Company ballets, including Nutcracker.
One of the most important functions we have is asking Parents and Guardians to participate and volunteer. Some of our volunteer opportunities include:
- Leotard Exchange
- Seattle – 3:30 to 6:30 Thursday, September 7th
- Bellevue – TBD
- Annual Holiday Fundraising Campaign
- Petite Finale (May)
- School Performance (June)
- Teen Night (May)
- Lost and Found
- Serving on Committees of the PGA (assistance with merchandise, organizing volunteers, fundraising, etc.)

This year, we are also hoping to organize parent/guardian social hours during your dancer’s class time to give parents an opportunity to meet one another and some representatives of the PGA. The PGA will provide more details soon.
A great place to find out more about these events, sign up to volunteer, access the link to purchase PNBS merchandise, review PGA minutes, and more, is the Parent Portal: https://parentportal.pnb.org/
Thank you for taking the time to review this communication and, in advance for your support of PNB School and its student dancers!
Please feel free to reach out to your PGA leadership anytime if you have any questions or concerns!
